Interference Metal Wipers
Dual conical scraping elements with load-generating SEAT and optional secondary wiper
Intended for use in applications where fine contaminant particles adhere to a highly finished rod.
The M-Series is available for press-in and snap-in installations. Slits on the ID of the scraping elements permit the inner lip to flex to accommodate rod dia. variations and ovality and to allow the transmission of scraping load to the rod by permitting an interference fit.
Hydrowype M-Series wiper assemblies are available to address high or low heat environments.
Standard "sectioned conical" scrapers provide axial stiffness for consistent scraping, and radial ductility, for close rod contact.
Available profiled scraping elements allow geometries to be tuned to specific applications.
Available in a range of proportions of diameter to height. Standard parts have a uniform geometry of OD = ID + (2 x Height). But this ratio can be varied (for order of quantity 20+)
Imperial heights (groove widths) include 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", and 9/16"
Metric heights (groove widths) include 2.5mm, 3, 4, 5, 6.5, 7, 8, and 10mm.
Style-I (M and MM)- snap In Installation
Hydrowype Style-I M-Series scrapers are comprised of two metal-alloy sectioned-conical or profiled, machined scraping elements, and a elastomer seat. The scraping elements can be slipped onto the rod and will pass through the clearance diameter of the lipped retaining counterbore. The elastomer seat may then be snapped into the groove in the bore and worked into place behind the retaining lip. Style-II (MW and MMW)- snap In Installation with Wiper
Includes the Hydrowype Style-I M-Series scrapers comprised of two metal-alloy sectioned-conical or profiled, machined scraping elements, an elastomer seat plus an elastomer wiper that fits under the scraping elements. The default material for the wiper is 95 durometer Urethane with NBR, H-NBR, PTFE, Acetal and Hytrel as options . To order Style-II, reference MW-(dash number).
Style-III (MC and MMC)- PRESS-In Installation
Includes the Hydrowype M-Series scrapers comprised of two metal-alloy sectioned-conical or profiled, machined scraping elements and an elastomer seat assembled into a metal case, facilitating press-in installation into an open counterbore. To order Style-III, reference MC-(dash number).
Style-IV (MWC and MMWC)- PRESS-In Installation WITH WIPER
Includes the Hydrowype M-Series scrapers comprised of two metal-alloy sectioned-conical or profiled, machined scraping elements, an elastomer seat and wiper, assembled into a metal case, facilitating press-in installation into an open counterbore. The default material for the wiper is 95 durometer Urethane with NBR, H-NBR, PTFE, Acetal and Hytrel as options . To order Style-IV, reference MWC-(dash number).

Hydrowype M-Series scraper assemblies are available with a variety a profiles of metal-alloy machined scraping elements, elastomer seats, secondary wipers and cans. Assemblies are typically configured for press-in installation into an open counterbore. Standard materials include:
Scrapers: - C36000 Brass, C93200 & C95400 Bronze, 416Stainless Steel (Can be heat treated), 303SS (Ductile SS)
Seats: - NBR, H-NBR, FPM/FKM.
Metal Cases: - A513-DOM Carbon Steel, 303 Stainless Steel, C93200 & C95400 Bronze.
Wipers: - Urethane, NBR, H-NBR, FPM/FKM, PTFE, Acetal, Nylon6 and Hytrel.

M-Series metal wipers are available for rod diameters ranging from 3/8" to 12".
MM (Metric Rod diaMEters)
Metric M-Series (MM) wipers are available in the same range of styles (above) as for imperial measurement wipers. Standard sizes for rod diameters ranging from 10mm to 300mm.
